June is a great month to be an employee here at Blue. The wet weather of Spring wraps up and the sunny days of Summer sneak in. The days get longer and we are all gifted with a few extra hours of daylight to #LiveItOutside. Oh, and did I mention? We get FREE food!
Back to back weeks staff were given the opportunity to enjoy both GCL Ice Cream Day and our Staff Appreciation BBQ. Is there a better way to end the school year and kick start Summer than an ice cream cone and a hot dog?! We didn’t think so either!
GCL Ice Cream Day
June 21st marked the Employee Adventure Month Staff Ice Cream Day! The first 200 staff members to attend GCL’s new ice cream window received not only a free cone, but also had the chance to meet McFadden Ice Cream’s Founder, Kevin McFadden.
For staff members that were unable to make it in the first grouping of 200, they were able to enjoy a delicious cone for only $2. Even with that price tag, we would say that is still a pretty “cool” deal.
Ice cream flavours ranged from Sponge Toffee, to Coconut Cream, Chocolate Banana & everything in between! I don’t know about you, but we sure will be making our way down the list this Summer!
P.S….The Sponge Toffee is amazing.

Staff Appreciation Barbeque
Just in time for lunch, the wonderful staff at Blue hosted our Staff Appreciation Barbeque at the base of our terrain. We were greeted with smiles and (of course) freshly grilled hot dogs! It was a great way to break up the work day and socialize with our peers in the sunshine.
