Less Crowds, But Still Plenty of Snow

With March Break now in the rearview mirror, the slopes are much quieter, but the conditions remain fantastic.

We’re seeing a colder northwest flow of air that has essentially shut down the spring melt for the time being. The average snow depth remains a solid 78 cm, with just under 300 centimetres of natural snow falling on the mountain so far this season. This marks the second year in a row of above-normal snowfall.

Temperatures will moderate back above freezing during the day Tuesday through Thursday, so expect firm, machine-groomed granular surfaces early in the morning, quickly softening by midday. A frontal system will bring rain back to the region on Thursday, followed by a much colder, but brighter Friday. Bluebird skies will return to end the week but watch for icy conditions thanks to the rain and the sharp swing in temperature.

This Weekend… 24h Blue MTN

Come celebrate the last weekend of March with live music, family games, midnight pizza, a sunrise breakfast, and around-the-clock relay skiing.

It’s the 8th annual 24h Blue MTN charity event, and the forecast looks great.
Saturday starts on the cool side with scattered flurries, but the trough quickly passes by afternoon allowing for the temperature to moderate. It won’t be nearly as cold for the overnight ski shift Saturday night. Skies should clear out on Sunday, with milder temperatures approaching +5°C. Yours truly will be your emcee for this fun-filled family event—so come say hi!

Longer Range Outlook

Looking ahead, early signs point to a pattern shift as we move into April. Warmer air will gradually take over across southern Ontario, setting the stage for classic spring skiing and snowboarding. Soft turns, slushy afternoons, and, of course, the return of the annual pond skim on April 4th.

Day-to-Day on the Slopes

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy and a little milder. West winds at 20 km/h. High +3°C
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, milder with winds turning south. High +7°C
Thursday: Periods of rain. High +7°C, winds 10–20 km/h
Friday: Back to sunshine but much colder. Brisk northwest winds. High -5°C (wind chill -13)
Saturday: Increasing clouds. High +1°C
Sunday: Partly sunny and mild. High +5°C

Final Thoughts

This marks the final ski weather report of the season.
Thanks for following along each week. It’s been another incredible year on the slopes. There’s still plenty of season left to enjoy, so get out there and make the most of it.
