It’s a marathon not a sprint, well half marathon that is.

I can’t believe we are hitting the halfway point into our 5 week challenge. We have been so inspired by all of your hard work. The discussion board on Strava is filled with nothing but positivity and motivates us to get out there and crush it, or in my case “crutch” it. Sadly, I am on the sidelines with a stress fractured ankle, so I am no longer leading the charge. Instead I am going to be the biggest cheerleader for you all!

In the spirit of cheerleading – it’s time to give it up for our winner this week – Give me an S-A-R-A-H! Let’s hear it for Sarah Traviss Burt! Your honesty in your posts, and your determination to beat the Sixth Street hill has been incredible. We tip our hats to you this week. Please email socailmedia@bluemountain.ca.

As you may have guessed by the title, we are challenging you to complete a half marathon this week! It can be in one run, two, or spanned over seven days. Be sure to log your outings as runs (even if they are hikes, or walks) so that it generates the distance to the leaderboard (as a secondary check point) to ensure everyone has over 21.1km under their belts by Sunday night.

Before the Crutch life chose me.

Now before I was sidelined to the crutch life, I was really getting my stride with running. I was going in the mornings before the heat of the day set in (even though I am the MOST unlikely morning person), but my morning was rolling out of bed at 7am, stretching, grabbing my tunes and heading out the door. The mornings were chilly, so I would grab my Fanorack (which is this week’s prize),  my High Waisted Motivation Tights (so you keep toight as you run) and the Essential Tee (week 1 prize) and head out. The most annoying thing about running with a jacket is that by half way through you don’t need it anymore. Well The North Face has solved that dilemma with the above mentioned Fanorack, which turns into a FANNY PACK!  I am serious, with two easy folds, and a quick flip inside out – your light weight jacket just went to a fashionable fanny pack which you can throw around your waist to keep your run hands free.
