To say that everyone lives have changed due to COVID-19 is an understatement. Everyone is affected differently, but our seniors in retirement and assisted living communities are truly struggling. With no visitors allowed in, our seniors need a little extra love and support.
We were approached by Balmoral Place Retirement Community in Collingwood, Allandale Station Retirement Community in Barrie & Bowmanville Creek Retirement Residence in Bowmanville with a request for help. The three long term care facilities have all had to move from dining room operations to room service operations due to the high risk of COVID-19.
They were looking for hot holding boxes for meals, serving utensils, plates & plate covers, as well as glassware & cutlery to serve a total of 460 residents across the three properties.
After a review of our resources, we were able to lend all of the retirement communities equipment and wares. Now they will be able to deliver three hot meals a day to each of their residents safely, in their rooms and on wares that are suitable for room service.
To say that their care team are grateful is an understatement! Their kitchen and serving teams were very excited to see us drive up in our Blue Mountain trucks when we delivered the items to each location this week.
