Team Blue

Behind The Snow: Women Making an Impact at Blue

Every day at Blue Mountain, teams across the resort work behind the scenes to create the experiences our guests know and love. From preparing the slopes before sunrise to maintaining equipment, coordinating events, and leading teams across the resort, their work helps make every visit to the mountain memorable.

This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to recognize some of the women whose dedication, skill and passion help keep Blue Mountain running. Their roles span departments across the resort, and their work contributes to the moments our guests enjoy on the mountain every day. Meet a few of the women who help power Blue.

Patty Tellier

Assistant Manager, Grounds Maintenance

“Patty has been the Grounds Assistant Manager for over a year and a half. Before that, she joined Blue as a Grounds Supervisor. One of Patty’s favourite parts of her role is working alongside her team to create beautiful gardens throughout the resort, taking particular pride in major garden overhauls. During the winter season, Patty enjoys the intricacy of snow-removal operations and the opportunity to learn the wide range of equipment used within the department.” – Victor Garcia, Manager, Grounds Maintenance

Jessica Tyson

Supervisor, Events

“Jessica has been our Event Operations Supervisor for the past two years, and she’s a major reason our events run so smoothly. Jessica is always teaming up with different departments across the resort to make sure everything comes together perfectly. You’ll usually spot her with a big smile, a drill in hand, and the kind of energy that lifts everyone around her. She’s all about good music, great vibes, and making sure our participants have an awesome experience every time!” – Ben Carleton, Manager, Event and Mountain Operations

Rebecca Kozaris

Coordinator, Parts & Service

“Rebeca Kozaris has been Equipment Maintenances’ Parts & Service Coordinator for a little over 3 years, and prior to that, Rebecca enjoyed many postings with Ontario Parks. Her favourite activities are outdoors, whether it be camping, hiking, or enjoying the beach, you can be sure she’s outside. She is committed to ensuring everyone’s work vehicles or equipment are repaired and returned, and that her shop family has everything they need to do their job!” – Justin Woodhouse, Manager, Equipment Maintenance

RiannaLeigh Smith

Groomer Operator

“Rianna has been a Groomer Operator for the past two winters and prior to that, she worked with the Skate Maintenance team. Rianna has shared that it’s pretty awesome pushing out big piles of snow, but her favourite part of her job is at the end of her shift—when the sun is rising, she looks across the hill at everything that’s been groomed and shaped perfectly, and she knows she had a hand in it.” – Brandon Hindle, Assistant Manager, Slope Maintenance

Jhi Yaemsuwan

Chef De Cuisine

“Meet Chef Jhi, an extraordinary leader and mentor who has become an irreplaceable part of our kitchen leadership team. Known for her strength, creativity, and unwavering commitment to excellence, Jhi sets the standard in our kitchen every single day. Her dedication to teaching and developing her team is at the heart of who she is. Jhi invests her time, knowledge, and patience into helping each of us grow, always leading with compassion and never losing sight of the people behind the work.

What truly sets Jhi apart is how deeply she cares for her staff. She supports them, challenges them, and believes in them. Her years of commitment to Blue Mountain have helped build the solid foundation that keeps The Banquet and our quick service teams thriving. We couldn’t, and wouldn’t want to do any of this without her.” – Kyle McClure, Executive Chef Banquets/Quick Service

Brittany Snodgrass

Snowmaker

“Brittany has been a Supervisor of Snowmaking and Trail Maintenance for over a year, and for two years prior to that she worked as a Snowmaker. We appreciate everything that she brings to the team! Her favourite thing about her job is in the early season, watching all the guests enjoy the snow that she put her hard work into making happen.” – Brandon Hindle, Assistant Manager, Slope Maintenance

Femke Randeraad

Ski Patroller

“Femke is an exceptional patroller whose skill, dedication, and leadership make her a deeply valued member of our Patrol team. She is one of the incredible women on our patrol who consistently demonstrate excellence, resilience, and compassion both on and off the hill.

Femke’s presence strengthens our team today while helping to shape a more inclusive future for the next generation of women in patrol. Her commitment, professionalism, and passion elevate our department and inspire those around her, making her an integral part of what makes our Patrol team so strong.” – Gord Parry, Manager, Patrol Services

Danielle Cook

Apprentice Technician, HVAC with G2

“For just under two years, Danielle has been an enthusiastic part of the Blue Mountain team and is currently working toward her Refrigeration License through an apprenticeship. She loves the wide variety of equipment she gets to work with every day and truly values being part of such a supportive, motivated team.” – Andrew Miner, Supervisor, Building Trades

Mary Jane Thomes

In Memoriam – Ski Patroller

“You may have skied Mary Jane’s Lane here at Blue before but let us introduce you to the trail’s namesake. Mary Jane Thomas worked at Blue Mountain for 22 years and made history as the first full-time female ski patroller. She was also one of the first women working in operations, at all. Among her many contributions, Mary Jane played a key role in helping to advance the snowmaking program that remains essential to our mountain today.

At a time when ski patrol and operational roles were traditionally held by men, Mary Jane stepped forward with determination, skill, and a deep passion for Blue. Her leadership and expertise helped pave the way for more women to pursue careers in mountain operations and safety.” – Rob Sheridan, Senior Director, Mountain Maintenance

Celebrating the People Behind the Mountain

It takes an incredible team to bring the Blue Mountain experience to life every day. The women featured here represent just a few of the many individuals across the resort whose work supports our guests’ experiences — often behind the scenes, but always with care, skill and pride.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate their contributions and the many women across Blue Mountain who help shape our workplace, our mountain and the community that gathers here. And to our guests — thank you for being part of the moments that make their work so meaningful.

You'll find me across the mountain swapping between my ski boots and hiking boots with a GoPro in hand to capture all things on-hill for Blue's social media channels.
