This pattern has been a dream for Blue\u2019s operations teams as well, delivering prime snowmaking weather with frequent top-ups from Mother Nature.\n<\/p>\n\n

\nEarly risers and late-day cruisers are being rewarded with\u00a0soft, edgeable corduroy<\/b>, especially right after the groomers make their afternoon pass. It doesn\u2019t get much better than that!\n<\/p>\n\n
\n\n
\nThe\u00a0average base depth has climbed to 90 centimetres<\/b>, closing in on the one-metre target depth. That deep snow goes a long way toward ensuring a strong and extended second half of the ski season.\n<\/p>\n\n
\n\nBundle Up This Week<\/h2>\n
\nWe\u2019re heading into the second week of a very cold weather pattern. While the\u00a0Polar Vortex is weakening<\/b>, its lingering effects will be felt through Friday. Daytime temperatures will average\u00a0more than five degrees below seasonal<\/b>, and night skiers might need to take more frequent breaks to warm up.\n<\/p>\n\n

\nWinds will gust\u00a0over 40 km\/h at times<\/b>, though that\u2019s an improvement compared to last week. Expect\u00a0occasional flurries and snow squalls<\/b>, with\u00a0another 10 to 20 centimetres<\/b>\u00a0of fresh snow possible through the end of the week.\n<\/p>\n\n

\nThe lake-effect snow machine will begin to shut down as\u00a0Georgian Bay and Lake Huron continue to freeze over<\/b>\u00a0heading into February. The trade-off?\u00a0More sunshine on the slopes.<\/b>\u00a0Next weekend is shaping up to be a beauty, with moderating temperatures, lighter winds, and plenty of sun.\n<\/p>\n\n
