Gratitude is the best Attitude.

With a week full of grey and rain, it is often hard to find perspective on the good as we are trapped inside dreaming of better days and sunshine. With the moods low across the resort, we thought it was time to remind everyone out there that despite the grey days, we have a lot to be thankful for in May.

1. Sunny days sweeping the clouds away

The days are getting longer, waking up for work isn’t so bad when its bright. Instead of thinking, “ugh…I have to go to work,” try celebrating the fact that you get to go to work. There is always someone else who would be overjoyed to have your opportunity.

2. It’s raining, it’s pouring

A little rain never hurt anyone.

Rain brings new life and washes away winter – It’s been a long, cold, and dark winter. As much as it is hard to deal with the constant rain we’ve been experiencing, rain means new life. Rain means the snow and mess from the winter gets washed away. Try thinking of the rain as nature’s “reset button” and get excited for the new life it brings

3. Grande Mocha Latte, Extra Hot, No Foam, Blonde Espresso

Speaking of the weather, is there anything better than getting a hot fancy coffee when it’s cold and damp outside? Treat yourself to a specialty coffee this week and add a hint of cinnamon to make your dreary day seem a little brighter.

4. Jon Snow, knows nothing – does everything. Bran Stark, knows everything – does nothing.

You are either part of a cultural phenomenon, or you’ve missed a cultural phenomenon. One thing I know for sure, our entire office bands together on Monday morning to discuss and debate the final 6 episodes of Game Of Thrones. There is something about 9 individuals who all differ, having a common thread to discuss. While the topic might differ at your office, we are thankful that it has brought the team closer, which creates a more cohesive work environment.

5. Snacks, Snacks, Snacks

It’s playoff season for Raptors and what better way to cheer on the home team than at Jozo’s Original Apres with some comfort food to ease the stress of those buzzer beaters. Another added bonus is that the local favourite Nachos are the perfect item to share with a fellow sports fan for added comradery and savings.

6. Sweater Weather

While the warmer temps we so desperately long for are a bit slow to arrive, it is a great time to treat yourself to the last of the winter wear sales. You can find deals up to 50% off throughout the village.  These crisp mornings and cool evenings are the perfect time to #LiveItOutside with a little extra warmth from a great sweater

7. Getting paid to stay home on a Monday!

The second-best thing to a 3 day weekend, is a four day work week. Long weekends in May, July, August, September and October. How can you be upset about that?

8. Gondola

It is hard to find 10 minutes of me time these days. The Gondola is not only a time where you can enjoy some me time, but it gives you the perspective of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place and be fortunate enough to enjoy the freedom of the outdoors.

9. Breaking free of the Hibernation

Get Outdoors – Fresh air, and sunshine – what’s not to like? The habit of hibernation and lunch at your desk can now be broken. Take a quick stroll outdoors at lunch time to return refreshed for the afternoon. Even 15 minutes of fresh air has great mental health benefits.

Why run on flat surfaces when you can run uphill with a weighted vest? Sounds Fun right?

10. Kindness of strangers

Kindness of Strangers – Pay it forward once a month by buying someone’s coffee for them. If you hit a drive through, offer to pay for the car behind you. Not only will it make the person’s day, but you will also feel amazing. A simple gesture can have such a big impact, and that is something to be thankful for.
