Blue Mountain’s Ultimate Summer Rainy Day Itinerary

Don’t let the weather dampen your perfect Blue Mountain getaway! Rain or shine, there’s tons of adventures to be found and memories to be made on the mountain. Follow along with our rainy day itinerary to make the most of a stormy situation.

Jump in to Plunge!

Who says poolside fun is reserved for sunny days? At Plunge! Aquatic Centre, you can dive in no matter the season— rain, snow, or shine. It won’t matter that it’s raining while you’re soaking in the hot tubs or cruising down the waterslide. Try the indoor water play area for the littles, or splash around the outdoor action pool with the older kids. At Plunge! the fun seamlessly extends from indoor to outdoor

Play All Day Even In The Rain

Not only can you access Plunge! with your Play All Day ticket, you can also still explore the Adventure Park when the skies are cloudy. Most attractions will run rain or shine unless extreme weather rolls though, which is good news for those guests who still want to get outside! Cascade Putting is a great option when sporting a rain jacket, or head up the Gondola to take in the views and snap a photo. Head over to Chutes & Loops with the littles for a more lowkey activity, or climb through Cocoon Crawl to stay a bit more dry. Canopy Climb Net Adventure is always fun to bounce around in, and if you think your skills are up to it, you can try Skywalk Challenge or Timber Challenge High Ropes for a slippery yet motivating high ropes experience.

Soak it Up, Buttercup!

Grab your waterproof hiking boots and jackets, and get ready to Explore All Day. The Cascade and Village Way hiking trails are perfect trail options with beautiful views that offer shelter under tree canopy (unless you hear thunder or see lightning! In that case, it’s best to seek shelter indoors). If you prefer a more leisurely stroll, hop aboard the Open-Air Gondola and bring your umbrella for a stroll along the Timeline trail. But hey, let’s be real. If Mother Nature decides to throw a full-on downpour with gusty winds your way, it might be safer to take the fun indoors.

Find Adventure Indoors

With the rain pouring outside, it’s the perfect time to exercise your creative muscles. Blue Mountain Village offers a variety of indoor activities that will ignite your imagination and leave you with lasting memories. At Crock a Doodle, immerse yourself in a world of pottery and artistic expression. Pick up a paintbrush and let your creativity flow as you craft a one-of-a-kind pottery piece.

If you prefer to admire artistic pieces rather than create them, explore Bright’s Gallery to check out a diverse collection of stunning works of art, from paintings to sculptures. And for a dose of quirky and eclectic finds, step into the Olde Stanton Store, Georgian Christmas, or Jack and Maddy: A Toy Store.

Looking for a rain-proof activity that will get your adrenalin pumping? Look no further than Axed in the Village. Gather your group of family, friends, or colleagues, and prepare for a unique and rain-proof time – no previous experience is required!

Warm Up With a Hot Meal

Who needs sunshine when you’ve got a warm meal at a cozy restaurant? Discover a variety of restaurants in the Blue Mountain Village, from Canadian classics to globally inspired menus. Make sure to indulge in a quintessential Canadian treat at Beavertails, try the vibrant flavours at Mother Tongue, or discover Mediterranean delights at Tholos Restaurant.

If you’re looking for delicious eats outside the Village, stop in at Jozo’s Original Après, the go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. Step into this iconic hangout located in the Blue Mountain Inn and soak up the classic après atmosphere.

Get Geared Up

There’s nothing worse than soggy boots or damp shirt. Luckily, our Village shops have got you covered! If the all too important rain jackets were left off your packing list, check out stores like The North Face, Red Devil Sports, or Columbia Sportwear, where the experts in outdoor gear will assist you in finding everything you need to kit up and embrace the elements.

Relax and Unwind

Take the time to chill at iWA spa located on the edge of the Mill Pond. This full-service wellness spa not only offers a range of rejuvenating treatments but also provides a unique experience with its signature Ganban warm volcanic rock treatments. Or, with heated pools and hot tubs for Blue Mountain and Westin lodging guests, grab a towel and slip down for pool time until the clouds part.

We hope this itinerary inspires you to make the most of your summer rainy day stay at Blue!
